George Solis joined the Action News Team in March 2019. A Southwest Florida native, George is excited to call the City of Brotherly Love home.

Before moving to Philadelphia, George spent three years in Baltimore, Maryland. While in Baltimore, George reported on many stories that captured national headlines including a bomb hoax threat at another television station, the historic flooding of Ellicott City, and the fatal shooting of a Baltimore City police detective.

Prior to relocating to Charm City, George spent three years reporting in his hometown of Fort Myers, Florida. There, he was nominated for an Emmy for his series of reports in Cuba and was awarded the Best Mobile Journalist in 2014 by the Florida AP Broadcasters.

George has also worked in Gainesville, Florida, where he helped establish a newly formed news operation, even helping the station earn its first Emmy nomination.

A proud graduate from the University of Florida, George always cheers for the Orange and Blue.

In his spare time, George enjoys spending time at the gym or playing his guitar. He also loves dining out and spending time with family and friends.
